The nearest airport to our reception venue, Fattoria La Loggia, is Florence (30 minute drive) or Pisa (60 minute drive).

If you stay in Florence, you can get a train directly from the airport to the city centre. If you're staying in the Tuscan countryside, we would recommend hiring a car or getting a taxi.

If you're happy to drive in Italy, its well worth hiring a car to explore the area - taxis are not so readily available in the region (unless booked in advance). We're not saying that there aren't buses, but we've never seen one in the rural areas, and the one time we did get a bus in Florence, we didn't get very far (that's a story we'll tell you over a drink!).

For car rentals, we recommend Sixt. We've never had any issues with them and they're usually very swift. Hertz are fine but very slow at the counter!

On the wedding day, we will be providing shuttles to and from the church and reception venue - if you want to use the shuttle service, we kindly ask that you let us know in advance and choose accommodation that is as close as possible to Fattoria La Loggia (see suggested accommodation on the 'Where to Stay' page), or in Florence city centre.

The weather in May in Tuscany is generally very pleasant (crossing fingers for no rain!) but it does get slightly cooler in the evenings at this time of year so we recommend bringing a light jacket, shawl or cardigan. Typical daytime high of 25℃, temperature can drop to as low as 12℃ overnight.

Should you need to book a taxi, here are some recommendations of local taxis from the venue. Please note cabs will need to be booked in advance - they can rarely take ad hoc bookings!
